 What is OpsXML?

OpsXML is fundamentally a new approach. It is a framework that enables businesses to create and maintain increased efficiency in their operational environments and achieve their operational and service business goals with a maximum Return on Investment (ROI).

OpsXML is an Operations Automation Solution with an extensible framework that allows the operational staff of Corporates or Service Providers to automate key processes. It is an integration platform that is easily extended by developing Service Logic and the corresponding Device CLI in XML without any programming knowledge. For example, configuring user accounts across a range of systems and network devices, backing up of network and system configuration, delivering network services onto network devices, allowing customers to self-subscribe to services, etc

OpsXML framework achieves its flexibility by adopting Extensible Markup Language (XML) as the backbone of its functional architecture.  By adopting XML as its foundational format, OpsXML framework leverages the inherent flexibility of XML in creating common information formats and data. This frees the OpsXML framework from any ‘hardwired-ness’ and at once creates an openness that is flexible, configurable and maintainable.

OpsXML makes tasks “data-oriented,” rather than “application-oriented.” All the operational tasks are specified in terms of 'Intents, which are in XML. Intents specify the 'what', 'when', 'where' and 'how' for each task.

OpsXML can manage any device that is connected to the network via IP. In the case of non-IP devices, a terminal server can be used to provide the IP connectivity.
